Veronica Lockett JD, MSW
A graduate of the University of North Texas—Dallas College of Law, Veronica has been licensed to practice law in Texas since December 2020. Veronica stands out as one of a small elite group of attorneys who are also members of the social work profession. In 2009 she graduated with her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Texas State University.
Currently, Veronica represents individuals with a mental health diagnosis via the Travis County Public Defenders Office. Veronica’s love for people and her passion for justice is woven throughout her work, which parallels her own life. During her career, she has worked closely with, supported and advocated for people with the most complex needs, including but not limited to: formerly incarcerated persons, survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, individuals and families experiencing homelessness, children in the foster care system, and those seeking restoration after hurricane Ida. Amid all of these extraordinary contributions, Veronica has raised two amazing children, served as kinship and voluntary placement for her nieces and nephews, and volunteered through the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Association and the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office to help indigent individuals needing civil legal services and criminal record expunctions.
