Daryl Horton
Rev. Dr. Daryl Horton is a native of Austin, Texas and resides there with his wife of 25 years, Dr. Shalonda Horton. He serves as Youth Pastor and Assistant to the Pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where Rev. Dr. G.V. Clark is Senior Pastor. Dr. Daryl Horton earned a Bachelor of Science from Texas State University, a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Austin Graduate School of Theology, a Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University.
Rev. Horton serves as the President of the Baptist Ministers’ Union of Austin and Vicinity and Chair of Christ Together Greater Austin. Rev. Horton is the Chair of the African American Resource Advisory Commission (AARAC) with the City of Austin, a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the Steering Committee for the Michael and Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living Community Collaborative and the Travis County Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (YSAPC). He also serves on the Board of Directors for Austin Habitat for Humanity, the Danny Forshee Evangelistic Association (DFEA) and Saffron Trust Womens Foundation.
Daryl Horton is a graduate of the Leadership Austin Essence Class of 2020. He also served as a McBee Fellow for the Austin Area Resource Organization (AARO) and enjoys playing golf as a member of the historic Traveler Golf Association where he currently serves as President.
